The League of Women Bowlers (LOWB) is a USBC sanctioned bowling league.
We are a newly formed women's bowling league...started in September 2006.
Our 3rd season will begin Sunday, September 7th, 2008 ...at a new location and time...Rinaldi's Riverdale Bowl which is located in Riverdale, Maryland... starting time is at 5:00p.m. ...the lanes are located off the Rt 410 intersection (East-West Hwy/Riverdale Rd) on Kenilworth Ave.

NOTE: some of the league members practice every Sunday at Rinaldi's around 11a.m. to 4p.m. (verify with League Secretary Julia... jj3394@aim.com)
...you do not have to be a league member to practice with us!
Sanction Fee is a one time only $19 to join...Weekly Bowling Fee will be $17.00 ...our season has a 32 week committment from September thru May.
NOTE: when you join the league, your teammates will expect you to bowl every Sunday possible from the beginning of the season/September to the end of the season/May...check the 'Announcements Page' for an explanation of this commitment as a bowler and/or sub.
It is the desire of this league to promote the sport of bowling for women.
We meet in a friendly, yet competitive, non-smoking social atmoshpere
We had 10 teams of 4 women each and a total of 41 league members with 21 new women joining us for the Fall 2007-2008 season. We hope to increase again this upcoming season...Especially with you joining :) ...we look forward to meeting you this season...bring friends!
All bowling skill levels are welcome...
Cheerleaders and supporters needed also for this up and rising women's league. It's all about "being in the company of women" .
We are committed to the values of bowling and dedicated to enhancing our bowling experiences.
League Organizers include long-term league members, avid bowlers and a Gay Games VII Bowling Bronze Medal Recipient.
Avenues of communication and networking opportunities are open to all.

We are the ONLY WOMEN'S LEAGUE in the CARA gay bowling organization! CARA is the Capital Area Rainbowlers Association consisting of 11 leagues in the DC Metropolitan Area. We marched proudly with the CARA organization in the 2008 Capital Pride Parade and got quite a few new interested bowlers to sign up for this season at the CARA Booth during the Pride Festival.

Our League Social Director CC Ford plans to have lots of enjoyable events and trips for the ladies. We have a camping trip in Harpers Ferry coming up this summer, game nite at Nationals Park, and with the Mystics at the Verizon Center... club nites and hosting several Cabarets also are scheduled events...we are pleased to announce that our end of the year exqusite New Year's Eve Dinner Dance at the secluded elegant Newton White Mansion will be held Wenesday, December 31, 2008
